Black Chia Seeds
The Nutrient Powerhouse
The Chia Seed is an amazing addition to your diet; it is packed full with omega-3, fibre, protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Chia seeds provide a balanced approach to long-term energy gain; this makes them an excellent addition to your sporting supplements. Chia seeds consist of between 19 & 23% protein and contain all nine essential amino acids, this makes the Chia Seed a complete protein and will help the body recover after physically demanding activities. This unique amino acid content also makes chia seed an amazing source of protein for vegans and vegetarians.
The Omega-3 content of chia is a vital nutrient for brain function, overall health and vitality. Omega-3 supplements are said to reduce inflammation, as well as the effects of oxidative stress and help to counteract the immune dysfunction associated with strenuous exercise. Chia seeds contain hydrophilic properties, which means that the seeds have the ability to absorb more than ten times their weight in water, this amazing ability allowing the consumer to stay hydrated for a longer period of time.
When consumed, the Chia Seed act like a sponge and form a thick gel in your intestines slowing digestion. This gel-forming action slows the conversion of carbohydrates into sugar, thus providing sustained energy and stabilising blood glucose levels.
Chia Seeds are also the perfect alternative to fish oil and eggs for our vegan friends.
Chia Seeds are also one of the few grain-like seeds that can be eaten straight from the plant, this means that it isn't necessary to grind, cook, soak or process in any way, shape or form and as an added bonus, Chia Seeds are 100% completely gluten free.

What Are The Ingredients Of Your Chia Seeds?
Our Chia Seeds are 100% Paraguayan Chia Seeds.
Temple Nutrition’s Chia Seeds are organically grown & harvested in one of the birthplaces of the original Chia plant (salvia hispanica). Our Chia Seeds come directly from Paraguay, South America and are cultivated by the native Paraguayan farmers who tend to and harvest their crops without the use of chemicals or machinery. This ancient process allows Temple Nutrition to offer you the most ecologically sound product on the market. Not only are our Chia Seeds of the highest quality, the land from which they are harvested is left unscarred. Temple Nutrition has worked closely with suppliers to make sure every farmer is treated and paid fairly, the specific harvesting technique used may take longer but it elevates the employment opportunity in the area and many Paraguayan farmers are able to find work in the Chia fields.
